Vijayshanthi Appointed Chief Coordinator in Congress for Telangana Election

Ahead of the upcoming Assembly election in Telangana, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed actor-turned-politician Vijayshanthi as the Chief Coordinator of the Campaign and Planning Committee. The decision follows Vijayshanthi’s recent switch from the ruling BRS to the Congress. Kharge also appointed several individuals as convenors for the campaign.

The election for the 119-member Assembly is scheduled for November 30. In addition to Vijayshanthi’s appointment, the Congress party released its manifesto for Telangana, promising various initiatives, including a daily ‘praja darbar’ at the chief minister’s residence, interest-free crop loans, a judicial inquiry into the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, and more. The manifesto, titled ‘Abhaya Hastam,’ outlines comprehensive promises for different sections of the population.
