Viksit Bharat Run Unites Indian Community in Dubai
The Indian Consulate in Dubai has organised a series of Seva Pakhwada activities to promote community service, public participation and a strong connection with India among the Indian diaspora.
As part of the celebrations, more than 3,000 people took part in the Viksit Bharat Run 2026 near the Dubai Frame on Sunday. The event was organised by the Consulate General of India in Dubai in partnership with the Indian People’s Forum (IPF).
Consul General of India in Dubai, Dr. E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, formally flagged off the run. The event brought together members of the Indian community, families and other participants in an effort to promote the message of a stronger and more developed India.
The run highlighted the importance of community participation and encouraged Indians living in the UAE to remain connected with India’s development journey. Participants came together around the shared idea of contributing to a vibrant and progressive India.
The Consulate also organised activities for Indian workers as part of Seva Pakhwada. A special programme was held at a labour camp in Dubai, where workers were provided information on financial matters and basic medical care.
Officials also explained the services available through the Indian Consulate. Workers were given information about how to contact the Consulate during emergencies and where they could seek assistance when required.
Earlier, Consulate officials visited the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara in Dubai and took part in Langar Seva. Langar is a community kitchen tradition in which food is prepared and served to people as an act of service.
The different activities brought together members of the Indian community from various backgrounds. They focused on helping people, spreading awareness about available services and encouraging participation in community initiatives.
The Seva Pakhwada programmes also provided an opportunity for the Consulate to connect directly with Indian workers and other members of the diaspora. Such outreach activities can help people better understand the support available to them while living abroad.
Through the Viksit Bharat Run, labour camp outreach and Langar Seva, the Indian community in Dubai participated in activities centred on service and social responsibility. The programmes also highlighted the strong cultural and community ties between Indians living in the UAE and their country of origin.
