Youths Issued Notices for Waving Religious Flags on Freedom Fighter Rani Abbakka’s Statue in Karnataka

Karnataka police have issued notices to a group of youths who climbed onto the statue of freedom fighter Rani Abbakka in Mangaluru while waving religious flags during the Eid Milad procession. The incident, caught on video and shared widely on social media, sparked outrage. The Ullal police collected video footage, identified the youths involved, and sent them notices to appear before the investigating officer.

The action was taken due to the sensitivity of the situation in Mangaluru, a city known for its communal tensions. In a related incident, curfew orders were imposed in Shivamogga City following stone-pelting during the Eid Milad procession, leading to the arrest of over 40 individuals.
