Here is a young lady who is passionate about doing things she likes and ended up starting a café in T.Nagar after getting bored about her monotonous job in Australia. I 'am talking about Mamatha Seshadri, a young entrepreneur and sole proprietor of Coffee Central in T Nagar which was started recently.

"My friend Preethika wanted me to start a pastry shop as I bake cakes, but I ended up starting a coffee shop which is more like a bakery only!" quips Mamatha who came down from Australia getting inputs about the interiors and ambience of Australian hotels and cafe's. With a neat teak wood finish and a dim brown light, this is one place youngsters would love to visit. "I have seen a lot of café's there and I had basic ideas and inspirations of how my shop should be. I wanted mix-matched chairs and not the uniform and monotonous corporate cook. I also wanted it to be a place where friends can come over and have some good time chit chatting and gossiping."

The one and a half months old cafe's has a book cupboard consisting of fiction, non-fiction, comic books and they also have few famous board games like Scrabble, Scotland Yard. Customers are welcome to come and play a game and have a sip of their range of coffee's and sandwiches.

Quiz her on how she manages this business all alone and pat comes the reply, "I micro-manage things. Right from purchasing things I manage everything on my own. Though this is a small venture, I dedicate all my time into this. I wanted everything about this to be exclusive and distinct."

Coffee Central has the regular hot coffees, cold coffees, mock tails, pastries and mousses (which they claim is their speciality), black teas and sandwiches. Having a place constraint and being health conscious, she did not want to have fries and meals which will demand oil and thus make everybody horizontally challenged. So any extra add-ons onto this café in future? "We are planning to have somebody who can play the music and entertain the crowd or starting a book club, thus encouraging people to read books." The prices are economical and none of the items cross Rs.80. Hot and cold coffees are placed anywhere between Rs.30-75 while sandwiches are priced between Rs.50-60 and pastries Rs.40-65.

So if your looking out for a friendly and a quiet place away from the T.Nagar crowd and want to sip a cup of coffee and read a book or coming down with your friends for a birthday treat or a party (they do organize birthday parties) or spending some time with your lover, then Coffee Central is your right place!
