Ajit-Vijay box-office clash on Pongal eve put on hold?

Ajith Even as fans of Ajit and Vijay are hoping for the Pongal clash of their stars' films, 'Asal' and 'Vettaikkaran', reliable sources in Kodambakkam insist that it may not be the case next year. Sun Pictures is now said to be seriously thinking about releasing Vijay's film as early as on Christmas eve i.e. on 25th December.

Sun Pictures has reportedly incurred several losses over the distribution of some of its films in the past year, but in view of the reputation Sun Group has built, it is not being made as a big issue. Therefore, it has been categorically decided at the highest level not to release the film along with Ajit's 'Asal'.

Vijay Meanwhile, the enthusiastic response from the audience to the just-released 'Kandein Kadhalai' that has been distributed by Sun Pictures, has made them think twice about releasing 'Vettaikkaran' during Christmas too. Wonder when would the film be released at all!
