Vincent Asokan, son of veteran villain actor Asokan who ruled the roost in Kollywood in the sixties and seventies, has been playing sundry roles and villain roles in films over these years. Asokan, however, maintains that Ameer's upcoming film 'Yogi' would show him in 'different' light.

Vincent, who played the hero in a solitary film Sila Nerangalil opposite the pretty Navya Nair, went back to his villain roles as the film didn't do particularly well. "Though I got many offers to play the lead role, I refused them all as I personally felt that the flair in an actor would come out only in a villain's role. My role in 'Yogi' is a very special one. I won't say much about the role as the film is getting ready for a release."
"The role breaks the norms set in Tamil films for a villain to behave and talk. The role, in fact, gave me the confidence that I can also attempt such roles. My another significant film is the Dhanush-starrer 'Kutti' in which I play villain but not a typical trigger-happy villain. I speak less and emote more through facial expressions in the film. I would like to do all kind of characters and also like to dabble in comedy, like my late father did in the latter part of his career," concludes Asokan.
