NIC Recruitment 2026: Apply Now for Scientist B Roles

The National Informatics Centre, which works under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has announced 243 vacancies for Scientist-B posts.

These jobs are available in fields like Computer Science, Electronics, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. NIC plays an important role in building India’s digital systems and supporting e-Governance services across the country.

To apply, candidates must have a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025, or 2026 in relevant subjects such as Computer Science, Electronics, or Data Science. Selection will be based mainly on GATE scores, followed by document verification and interviews.

The application process started on March 27, 2026, and will end on April 24, 2026. Since selection depends on GATE performance, the competition is expected to be high.

The vacancies are divided into different categories:

Computer Science and IT: 168 posts
Electronics and Communication: 25 posts
Data Science and AI: 50 posts

The Scientist-B post is a Group-A government job under the 7th Central Pay Commission. The salary ranges from ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500, along with other benefits.
