Nepal: Rastriya Swatantra Party Nominates Dol Prasad Aryal for HoR Speaker

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has officially nominated its Vice President Dol Prasad Aryal as its candidate for the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal. This move is seen as an important step by the party to increase its influence in national politics.

The decision was made during a parliamentary party meeting held at Singha Durbar, the main administrative center of the government. The proposal was put forward by party president Rabi Lamichhane and received full support from all members present. This unanimous approval shows strong unity and confidence within the party.

The election for the new Speaker is scheduled to take place at 11 am on Sunday, April 5. The Speaker holds a very important role in Parliament. The person in this position is responsible for managing sessions, maintaining order during debates, and ensuring that parliamentary rules are followed properly.

Currently, Arjun Narsingh KC, the senior-most Member of Parliament, is serving as the acting Speaker. He will continue in this role until a new Speaker is officially elected and takes charge.

By nominating Aryal, the RSP is trying to play a stronger role in the country’s political system. The party believes that having its leader as Speaker will help it contribute more effectively to parliamentary decisions and governance.

The upcoming election is expected to be important, as it will decide who will lead the House of Representatives in the coming period. The result could also influence how smoothly parliamentary work is carried out and how different political parties cooperate in the future.
