What Will David Ellison Name His Mega Hollywood Studio?

Hollywood has a long history of major mergers, but choosing a name for a giant combined company can be almost as difficult as completing the deal itself.

The Marx Brothers once joked about Hollywood’s complicated corporate names. In 1933, they gave their fictional company an extremely long name: “International Amalgamated Consolidated Affiliated World Wide Film Productions Company Incorporated” of North Dakota.

More than 90 years later, David Ellison faces a similar naming challenge following his reported $111 billion merger involving major entertainment companies, including Warner Bros. and Discovery.

The combined company brings together some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Even a name such as “Paramount Skydance Warner Bros. Discovery” sounds lengthy, raising questions about what the new entertainment giant will ultimately be called.

For now, unofficial names such as “WarnerMount” and “ParaBros” have emerged. These names attempt to combine or highlight the companies involved in the massive deal.

However, no official name has been announced yet. Paramount has also not publicly revealed details about the naming plans.

The final name could play an important role in shaping the identity of the new studio. It may reflect how Ellison and his team want audiences, filmmakers and the wider entertainment industry to view the newly formed Hollywood giant.

Until an official announcement is made, Hollywood will have to wait to find out what name will appear on the doors of one of the industry’s biggest new studios.
