130,000 Troops Deployed Across Mexico To Stop Cartel Attacks
Mexico’s Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch has announced a large-scale security operation involving more than 130,000 troops deployed across the country. The move is aimed at preventing possible retaliation from drug cartels following recent high-profile arrests.
Authorities recently captured two important figures from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), one of Mexico’s most powerful criminal groups. The arrested individuals are Audias Flores Silva, known as “El Jardinero,” and César Alejandro N, also known as “El Guero Conta,” who was believed to be the cartel’s main financial planner.
Officials say these arrests have seriously weakened the CJNG’s operations, especially its financial networks, logistics, and overall coordination. The cartel has been expanding its influence in several regions, not only within Mexico but also beyond its borders.
Speaking at a press conference, Harfuch said the deployment of security forces is a precautionary step to maintain public safety and prevent any violent response from the cartel. He added that the government is closely monitoring the situation.
The nationwide operation includes army personnel, federal police, and other security agencies working together to control high-risk areas and strengthen security presence.
Authorities believe that strong action against cartel leadership is necessary to reduce organized crime and restore stability in affected regions. The situation remains under close watch as investigations and security operations continue.
