AISF Accuses A.P. Chief Minister of Betrayal Over Teacher Recruitment Promise

The leaders of the All India Student Federation’s (AISF) State unit accused the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh of reneging on his promise to release a ‘Mega DSC’ notification to recruit 23,000 teacher posts in the state. The AISF leaders, including State President Johnson Babu and General Secretary Siva Reddy, alleged that the government’s release of a DSC notification with only 6,100 posts was a betrayal to the youth of the state.

They claimed that the Chief Minister’s failure to fulfill the promised recruitment drive had let down 7 lakh unemployed youth. According to AISF, the Education Minister had announced in the Assembly that there were 23,000 vacant teacher posts, but the notification only announced 6,000 posts, which they deemed insufficient.

The student leaders demanded the withdrawal of G.O. 117 and warned of consequences if the government did not increase the number of posts, threatening to dislodge the ruling YSR Congress Party from power in the forthcoming elections. The police foiled the ‘Chalo Assembly’ protest planned by AISF leaders, shifting the protesters to the Governorpet police station.
