Arrests Made in Karnataka After Mosque Intrusion and Sloganeering Incident

Police in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district have arrested two individuals, Keerthan and Sachin, both in their 20s and residents of Bilinele Sodlu and Kaikamba Nedtota, respectively, for allegedly entering a mosque and raising ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Kadaba police station on a Sunday night. The accused, who arrived on a motorcycle, entered the mosque’s premises and chanted the slogans unlawfully.

When the mosque’s cleric confronted them, the youths fled the scene. The incident, captured by the mosque’s CCTV camera, led to the suspects’ identification and subsequent arrest. According to the cleric’s complaint, the intruders not only chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans but also threatened to prevent ‘Byaris’ (Muslims) from residing in the area. The incident heightened tensions, prompting the police to form two teams to apprehend the accused.
