Arrests Made in Triplicane for Damaging Road-Cleaning Vehicles

The Marina Police in Triplicane have apprehended five individuals involved in the vandalism of three road-cleaning vehicles belonging to Urbaser Sumeet. The incident occurred at the depot located on Karneeswarar Pakoda Street. Among those arrested, B. Sivasudhan, a mechanic with the conservancy company, was suspended in December for his involvement in removing spare parts and selling them to a private auto ancillary shop.

Despite his suspension, Sivasudhan and accomplices allegedly conspired to damage the vehicles, resulting in a loss exceeding ₹4.5 lakh. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the three vehicles were rendered inoperable due to deliberate sabotage. Following the arrest, all five suspects were presented before a judicial magistrate and subsequently remanded to prison on Wednesday.
