BPSC Protest Lathi Charge Sparks Outrage

A protest by young job seekers in Bihar has triggered a major political controversy after police used a lathi charge to disperse demonstrators in Patna.
The protest was held against the delay in the release of the fourth phase teacher recruitment notification by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). Many teaching aspirants had gathered peacefully, demanding timely announcements and fair recruitment opportunities.
However, the situation turned tense when police used batons to break up the protest. Several protesters were reportedly injured during the action, leading to strong criticism from opposition leaders.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with allegations that excessive force was used against young people who were only demanding jobs.
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi strongly condemned the incident. In a post on social media platform X, he said that unemployed youth in Bihar were peacefully protesting for their rights but were instead met with violence from the police.
He also criticized the ruling government, saying that unemployment has become one of the biggest problems in India today and is affecting millions of young people across the country.
According to reports, the protesters were teacher job aspirants who had been waiting for recruitment updates from BPSC for a long time. They gathered in Patna to demand clarity on the delayed notification and faster hiring processes.
Opposition parties have also joined in condemning the police action, calling for an investigation into the use of force and urging the government to address unemployment issues more seriously.
The incident has once again brought attention to the growing frustration among educated unemployed youth in Bihar and the wider debate over job creation in India.
