Chennai Corporation Deploys Extensive Measures for Cyclone Fengal Relief

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has mobilized 1,686 motor pumps, including 137 high-capacity pumps, to address waterlogging reported in 134 locations. Relief efforts include standby operations at 329 centers equipped with essentials, alongside tree clearance using 489 specialized machines.

Rescue teams are supported by 103 boats, and medical camps have benefited over 1.39 lakh residents since October. The Ganeshapuram subway remains the only closure among 22 subways, due to ongoing railway bridge work. Over 22,000 personnel and 18,500 volunteers are actively engaged in managing the city’s recovery efforts.
