Court to Decide on CBI’s Plea for K. Kavitha’s Custody

The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has reserved its decision on the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) request to take Bharat Rashtriya Samiithi leader K. Kavitha into police custody for five days. Kavitha, arrested in connection with a corruption case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, was accused of non-cooperation and evasive responses during the investigation.

Representing the accused, advocate Nitesh Rana contested the CBI’s plea, denouncing the arrest as illegal. Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was previously held in Tihar Jail following her arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The court’s decision on the custody plea is awaited, as the legal proceedings continue in this high-profile case.
