IAF’s Swift Airlift Saves Army Jawan’s Severed Hand

In a daring airlift operation, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted a “dark night airlift” using a C-130J aircraft to evacuate an Indian Army personnel whose hand was severed while operating a machine in a forward area. The injured jawan was swiftly transported from Ladakh sector to Delhi’s Army’s Research Referral (R&R) Hospital for emergency surgery. Within a span of four hours, the IAF coordinated seamlessly with the Army to ensure timely medical attention, facilitating the critical surgery to stitch back the soldier’s severed hand.

Utilizing night vision goggles for the operation, the IAF demonstrated its capability to execute complex missions even under challenging conditions, emphasizing its commitment to swiftly respond to emergencies and save lives. This airlift showcases the close coordination and rapid response capabilities of the IAF and the Army in providing crucial medical assistance to personnel in remote and challenging environments.
