Due to heavy rain, Chembarambakkam had a good reservoir

Following the heavy rainfall on Sunday and Monday, the Chembarambakkam reservoir in Chennai has recorded an inflow of nearly 2,300 cubic feet per second (cusecs) of water in the past two days. This influx of water is in addition to the water transferred from the Poondi reservoir.

The significant increase in water inflow is attributed to the record rain that occurred during this period. The rise in water levels in the Chembarambakkam reservoir is expected to contribute to the overall water storage capacity in Chennai, providing relief during the monsoon season.

The authorities are closely monitoring the situation to manage the water resources effectively and ensure the well-being of the city’s residents.
