In a bid to improve the safety of women commuters, Chennai Metro Rail has inaugurated a dedicated helpline, 155370, offering round-the-clock assistance. The helpline aims to provide timely support to women facing any issues while traveling within the metro network. Services include emergency response and ensuring swift assistance whenever required.

Currently active on the BSNL network, efforts are underway to extend activation to other networks, as stated in a press release. Additionally, the recent introduction of the pink squad, comprising women trained in martial arts, further underscores the metro’s commitment to enhancing women’s safety.
