India Holds Top Spot in ICC Men’s T20I Rankings

New Delhi, May 5 (ANI): The Indian cricket team has stayed at the top of the latest ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings after winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India leads with 275 points, followed by England in second place with 262 points and Australia in third with 258 points.

The rankings are based on matches played since May 2025, while results from the previous two years count for half as much. India’s consistent performance over the past two years, including back-to-back T20 World Cup victories in 2024 and 2026, has kept them unbeaten in bilateral series.

The top seven teams remain unchanged, with New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and West Indies holding their positions. Bangladesh moved up to eighth place, overtaking Sri Lanka, which dropped to ninth. Afghanistan is close behind in tenth.

Emerging teams like the United States and Italy showed improvement. The US climbed two spots to 13th, while Italy rose three places to 23rd after impressing in their World Cup debut.

At the lower end, Nepal and Oman moved up a spot each, while UAE and Canada dropped slightly. Fiji, Gambia, Greece, and Israel were removed from the rankings for not playing enough T20Is recently. The rankings now include 98 teams.
