Karnataka CM Denies Congress High Command Seeking Funds for Elections

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has refuted allegations by the BJP that the Congress high command sought funds from the state for elections in other states. He stated that the BJP’s claims are baseless and politically motivated. This comes in response to the recent Income Tax department raids in Bengaluru that led to the seizure of a significant amount of cash (Rs 42 crore).

The BJP alleged that this money was intended for use in states facing elections, like Telangana and Rajasthan. Siddaramaiah firmly rejected these accusations, emphasizing that there is no connection between elections in other states and Karnataka. He also addressed the ongoing power crisis in the state, which is due to a shortage of rain and increased electricity demand. The government is working to ensure that farmers are not affected by load shedding.
