Mark Boucher Praises Finn Allen’s Power Hitting
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) stayed in the playoff race with an impressive eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2026 on Friday. Finn Allen starred with an unbeaten century, guiding his team to chase down a target of 143 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
On JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Centre Live,’ Mark Boucher and Piyush Chawla discussed Allen’s remarkable performance. Boucher praised Allen’s ability to hit the ball with exceptional power once he got past 20 or 30 runs, calling him one of a kind in world cricket. He highlighted Allen’s range, cleanliness, and effortless shots, including his pick-up shot over fine leg against Mitchell Starc and straight hits back over the bowler’s head.
Allen’s century was his first in IPL, achieved in just 47 balls with the help of 10 sixes and five fours. Chawla noted that despite batting on a tough surface, Allen used the crease effectively, going deep against short deliveries and capitalizing on anything in his zone. He also commended Allen’s reach, which allowed him to hit different parts of the ground comfortably. However, Chawla pointed out that spinners failed to bowl consistent lengths to trouble him, making it easier for Allen to score.
With this win, KKR moved up to seventh place after securing four consecutive victories following a slow start to the season. They will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their next match in Raipur on Wednesday.
