Maulana Arrested in Karnataka for Alleged Sexual Assault on Minor at Mosque

In Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district, a Maulana originally from West Bengal, identified as 25-year-old Maulana Abdul Samad Ziyayi, has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a minor boy at a mosque. The arrest came following a complaint from the victim’s father.

The police reported that the boy frequented the mosque daily to recite Quranic verses, and it’s alleged that the accused lured and sexually abused him on the night of September 23. A case under the POCSO Act was registered, and the accused was presented before the District Sessions’ Court before being sent to judicial custody.
