Moderate rainfall for the next two days in Northern coastal areas and delta districts in TN

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted moderate rain in the north coastal areas and delta districts of Tamil Nadu for the next two days. Ariyalur district recorded 6 cm of rainfall, while several stations in Chennai, Cuddalore, Ranipet, and Thiruvannamalai witnessed moderate rain. The rainfall has been attributed to a cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal, which has triggered the precipitation.

The IMD’s forecast indicates the possibility of further rainfall in these regions, which will help in replenishing water resources and providing relief from the prevailing dry conditions. People in the affected areas are advised to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions during the rainfall period. The rainfall is expected to provide some respite from the heat and bring down temperatures in the region.

The local authorities and disaster management teams are monitoring the situation closely and taking necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents. Efforts are underway to manage waterlogging and mitigate any potential flood risks in low-lying areas. The public is urged to cooperate with the authorities and follow guidelines to stay safe during the rainy period.
