Modi Begins Netherlands Visit for Talks
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Netherlands on Friday, May 15, 2026, as part of the second leg of his five-nation international tour. His visit is aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between India and the Netherlands.
During the visit, PM Modi is scheduled to hold important talks with his Dutch counterpart Rob Jetten. PM Modi was warmly welcomed upon his arrival at the airport. He was received by Rear Admiral Ludger Brummelaar, Adjutant-General and Chief of the Military Household of His Majesty the King, along with Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen. India’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, Kumar Tuhin, and several other senior officials from the Dutch government were also present to greet him.
The visit highlights the growing importance of India–Netherlands relations in recent years. Both countries have been working closely on global issues such as climate change, clean energy transition, and digital innovation.
Officials from both sides are expected to continue discussions over the next few days, focusing on ways to deepen cooperation and strengthen long-term strategic ties. PM Modi’s visit is seen as an important step in further enhancing India’s engagement with Europe.
