A recent poll by JL Partners for the Daily Mail has found that Nikki Haley, the Indian-American former Governor of South Carolina, is the leading Republican candidate to beat US President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential race, particularly among independent voters. Fresh from the second Republican debate, Haley leads President Biden by two points, with 40% support to Biden’s 38%.

She also outperforms other Republican candidates, including former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott. Haley’s appeal to independent voters, attributed to her more moderate policies, positions her as a formidable challenger for the White House in 2024.
