Positive Steps Towards Closing Navalur Toll Plaza

The persistent efforts of the Federation of OMR Resident Associations (FOMRRA) to eliminate the Navalur toll plaza on the Rajiv Gandhi Salai have yielded promising results, as the State government is now considering its closure. Thiruporur MLA S.S. Balaji, who recently met Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and submitted a petition advocating for the toll plaza’s removal, reported that Mr. Stalin has assured him of taking positive steps in this direction.

Harsha Koda, co-founder of FOMRRA, extended his gratitude to the legislator for drawing attention to the issue in the Assembly and praised the dedication of FOMRRA volunteers who garnered over 5,000 resident signatures in support of the toll plaza closure. Residents have been advocating for its removal, citing reduced road space and poor road maintenance due to Chennai Metro Rail Limited’s ongoing work in the area.

More than 150 residents’ welfare associations, coordinated by FOMRRA, have consistently raised their voices through petitions and social media in favor of toll plaza removal.
