“Save Democracy” Protest by INDIA Bloc Leaders Against Mass Suspension of MPs in India

Leaders of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc gathered at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi under the banner “Save Democracy” to protest the recent mass suspension of 146 opposition MPs from the Parliament’s Winter Session. The senior opposition leaders, including Sharad Pawar, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Sitaram Yechury, expressed solidarity in challenging the suspension, which led to the adjournment of the session sine die.

NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar asserted the opposition’s willingness to pay any price to safeguard democracy. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor emphasized that the unprecedented suspension of 146 MPs posed a threat to democracy and urged people to consider a change in government. The protest aims to raise awareness about the perceived dangers to the future of the country.

The suspended MPs, who were demanding a statement from Union Minister Amit Shah regarding the Parliament security breach, participated in the demonstration. Congress has also planned a nationwide protest at all district headquarters, condemning the government’s actions and advocating for the protection of democratic principles.
