Tottenham Signs Mykhailo Mudryk on Loan

Tottenham has signed Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk on loan for the rest of the season. The 25-year-old joins the London club from his rivals Chelsea. Mudryk had joined Chelsea in January 2023 for €100 million but faced issues later.

In 2024, he tested positive for meldonium, a banned substance that improves stamina. This led to a four-year ban by the Football Association (FA). However, his suspension was lifted in July after appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Mudryk expressed excitement about joining Tottenham and working with manager Roberto De Zerbi again. He called De Zerbi his “football father” and trusted him to help him improve.

De Zerbi supported Mudryk, saying he deserves a chance to prove himself after missing two years due to the ban. Mudryk last played for Chelsea in November 2024, scoring against FC Heidenheim.

On the international stage, Mudryk has played 28 matches for Ukraine since debuting in 2022 and scored three goals.

Tottenham is struggling this season, sitting at the bottom of the Premier League with no points after losing their first two games. They had tried to sign Cody Gakpo and Iliman Ndiaye but failed. Gakpo stayed at Liverpool, while Ndiaye moved to Manchester City in a £65 million deal.

Mudryk’s signing is seen as an effort to boost Tottenham’s performance this season.
