The Sornammal Educational Trust (SET), supported by the Ma Foi Foundation, inaugurated Project Sahana in collaboration with SHE Trust, Kuwait. Inaugurated by well renowned Tamil writer and social activist Ms. Sivasankari, Sahana  envisages providing employment opportunities to nearly 200 women from Self Help Groups (SHGs) who will be involved in both, the production and marketing of the low cost, bio-degradable sanitary napkin.

The production unit has been established at Solai street Ayanavaram.  The uniqueness of Project Sahana is that all the materials that will be used in the production of the Napkins will be Bio-Degradable and low cost providing an average income of Rs.2000 per month to the women of the SHGs involved.
