Students Celebrate Multiple Holidays in January
January Brings Many Holidays for Students
January is one of the most exciting and fun months for school students because it brings many holidays. These holidays come from festivals and national events, giving students time to relax and enjoy. At the start of each month, students check the calendar to see how many holidays they will get, and January often has the most holidays of the year.
Some of the main holidays in January include New Year, Pongal, Thiruvalluvar Day, Kaanum Pongal, and Republic Day. In some districts, students may also get extra local holidays, adding more days off.
One of the most important celebrations is the Tamil festival of Pongal, which is celebrated from January 14 to January 17. The Tamil Nadu government has announced the holidays for students as follows:
January 15 – Pongal
January 16 – Mattu Pongal and Thiruvalluvar Day
January 17 – Kaanum Pongal and Uzhavar Thinam
These holidays allow students to spend time with family, enjoy cultural traditions, and take a break from school. Students can participate in festival activities, relax, and prepare for the rest of the school year.
With all the festivals and national events, January is considered one of the most festive and joyful months for students, giving them plenty of reasons to celebrate and enjoy the winter season.
