Iran Strikes Kuwait-flagged Oil Tanker Near Dubai

A large oil tanker near Dubai was hit by a drone attack believed to be from Iran. The tanker, named Al-Salmi and registered in Kuwait, was carrying about two million barrels of crude oil at the time.

After the attack, the ship caught fire, causing concern among authorities. Emergency teams quickly responded and worked to control the fire. All 24 crew members on board were reported safe, and no injuries were confirmed.

Even though the fire has been brought under control, officials warned that the damage to the tanker could still lead to an oil spill. This could affect the nearby sea and environment if not handled carefully.

The incident comes at a time of rising tensions in the region. Earlier this year, the United States and Israel carried out strikes against Iran. In response, Donald Trump warned that the U.S. could target Iran’s energy facilities if Tehran blocked the Strait of Hormuz, an important route for global oil transport.

Officials are closely monitoring the situation, as such incidents could further increase tensions and affect global oil supply.
