Last Chance to Surrender Illegal Guns: CM DK Shivakumar

Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has announced a deadline for people who are illegally possessing firearms in the state. He said that individuals who voluntarily surrender their illegal weapons before November 1 will not face legal action for possessing them.

However, Shivakumar warned that people found carrying or keeping illegal firearms after the deadline will face action under the law. The government wants people to use the opportunity to surrender unlicensed weapons and avoid further legal problems.

Shivakumar also urged firearm owners to make sure that their weapons are properly registered and legally licensed. He said the government plans to make the firearm licensing process easier and more streamlined in the near future.

The proposed changes are intended to make it simpler for eligible people to complete the required procedures and obtain the necessary licence. At the same time, the government wants to ensure that firearm ownership remains within the rules and regulations.
