Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre Launches Two Free Certificate Programmes in Banking and Fintech

Programme duration 18-20 weeks – will be conducted in hybrid mode

Chennai, April 2023

Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Banking Financial Services and Insurance (TNASDC-BFSI), a skill development initiative of Government of Tamil Nadu, is launching two free certificate programmes: one in banking & finance, and another in fintech skills, in May 2023 for the students of Tamil Nadu. The certification programmes are part of the State government’s flagship “Naan Mudhalvan” skilling initiative.

Fully funded by the state government, the programmes: Certificate Programme in Banking and Finance, and Certificate Programme in Fintech Skills will be conducted in hybrid mode (a combination of online and direct classes). These programmes will enhance the employability skills of college students. The duration of the programmes can range from 18-20 weeks, depending on the learning pace of the students. Students of government colleges, state universities, and aided colleges – besides, those from non-aided colleges belonging to Economically Weaker Sections can apply for the courses online.

To become eligible for the programmes, students will have to clear a free entrance test – to be conducted on April 16 (Sunday) across Tamil Nadu. Upon successful completion of the programmes, students will get certification from TNASDC – BFSI and its learning partner. TNASDC BFSI will provide placement support services – including facilitation of job interviews at corporates.

For both programmes students who are pursuing final year in 2023-24 of UG and PG courses in major domains can apply. For details, please contact: +91 7012119021 / visit: www.tnfinskills.com

Commenting about the benefit of the free programmes, Mr Sai Sumanth, Chief Mentor and Director, TNASDC – BFSI said, “Tamil Nadu has a clearly-set goal of becoming a $1 Trillion economy by 2030. And skilling is an essential part of this agenda because a better and highly trained youth can help accelerate our growth path towards this goal. Our mandate is to help in this endeavour. For the Fin Tech course, we have tied up the New York-based Alphabeta.io, a tech platform to learn investment strategies, to bring in best-in-class content and teaching delivery. For the banking and finance programme, we will encourage the successful candidates to take up IIBF certification tests and our organisation can help fund such tests too. We are sure these courses will significantly increase the skill quotient of Tamil Nadu students thus enabling their individual growth as well as the economic growth of the State”.
