Airfares Soar in Kerala as Air India Express Flights Cancelled

Following the cancellation of Air India Express flights, airfares to the Gulf region have surged in Kerala. With Air India Express being the largest player in the international sector, handling around 275 flights per week from the State, the disruption has had a significant impact. The lowest direct budget airline seat available to Dubai from Thiruvananthapuram has jumped to ₹33,592, while regular Etihad Airways flights are priced at ₹63,338 on the same day.

From Kochi, airfares range from ₹42,476 to ₹45,817. Passengers in the international sector from Kerala are likely to face challenges in finding affordable flights for at least the next few days, with increased demand and limited options available.
