DSC-Qualified Protesters Detained in Vijayawada Demanding Teacher Vacancies

In Vijayawada, a protest led by DSC-qualified candidates, supported by the All India Youth Federation (AIYF), was met with police intervention as they attempted to rally towards the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. The demonstrators demanded the filling of 25,000 vacant teacher positions in Andhra Pradesh, criticizing the government’s announcement of only 6,100 vacancies as an “election stunt.”

Despite assurances from Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his pre-election padayatra, the promised vacancies remain unfulfilled, stated AIYF representatives. The detained protesters called for the issuance of a new notification to address all 25,000 teacher vacancies, emphasizing the urgency of fulfilling the government’s commitments to the education sector.
