Empowering Students with Special Needs Through Digital Mode SSC Exams in Andhra Pradesh

In a significant stride towards inclusive education, Andhra Pradesh’s Samagra Shiksha initiative is facilitating 13 students with special needs to write their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations in digital mode. Last year, six students from the Rural Development Trust (RDT) High School for Inclusive Education in Anantapur made history by passing the exam without assistance, setting a national record.

Building on this success, the state is launching ‘Vision 2025-Inclusive Andhra’, focusing on extending digital support to children with various special needs. Under this project, around 1,000 students have been identified, and 2,000 teachers have received comprehensive training to address technology-related requirements.

Through initiatives like Digitally Accessible Pedagogy (DAP), the program aims to empower students with disabilities, enabling them to overcome digital barriers and participate in exams like their peers.
