How Shubman Gill’s Advice Changed Kirandeep Singh’s Life

Kirandeep Singh grew up in Cholta Kalan, a small village near Kharar in Punjab. He started playing cricket with a tennis ball at seven or eight years old and became known for his skill in local matches. However, he lacked proper guidance and mentorship.

His life changed when he met Shubman Gill during practice in Mohali. Shubman noticed Kirandeep’s talent and gave him some important advice: “Stop playing with a tennis ball,” he said. “Use a leather ball instead.” He also offered help if Kirandeep ever needed it. This advice marked the beginning of a new chapter for Kirandeep.

Later, at the Mullanpur International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh, Kirandeep got to bowl against Shubman for the first time. Despite coming from a financially struggling family and facing challenges with food and nutrition, Kirandeep’s hard work paid off when Fazilka Falcons signed him for ₹20,000 in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League 2026 auction.

Kirandeep expressed gratitude for Shubman’s support and motivation. He sees this opportunity as a chance to prove himself and learn from experienced players like Shubman. Though he never imagined such an early break, Kirandeep is excited to take on the challenge and make the most of his time with Fazilka Falcons.

The Sher-e-Punjab T20 League is more than just a debut for Kirandeep—it’s a chance to turn recognition into success and establish himself in Punjab cricket. The league begins on August 30, and Kirandeep is ready to seize this new opportunity.
