New Jayadeva Hospital Building in Kalaburagi to be Inaugurated by February End
The inauguration of the new 371-bed building for the Kalaburagi branch of the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICSR) is tentatively scheduled for the end of February, as per Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil. The Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) has allocated ₹180 crore for the hospital’s construction, with an additional ₹56 crore earmarked for upgrading the facility with advanced equipment.
The hospital will feature 100 intensive care unit beds, 250 beds for general wards, and 25 beds for special and deluxe rooms, along with three operation theatres and three cath-labs. Dr. Patil also mentioned plans for a 300-bed Mother and Child hospital, a 50-bed critical care unit, and a 20-bed burn ward in Kalaburagi, indicating significant healthcare infrastructure development in the region.
