Rajnath Singh Holds Key Meeting with Defence Chiefs as Tensions with Pakistan Continue
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a high-level meeting with India’s top military officers to review the current security situation as tensions with Pakistan continue to rise. The meeting took place in New Delhi and included the Chief of Defence Staff, the Army Chief, the Navy Chief, and the Air Force Chief.
During the meeting, Rajnath Singh asked the defence chiefs to stay alert and ready for any situation along the border. He reviewed the latest reports from intelligence and security agencies and discussed possible steps to strengthen India’s defence.
Sources said the Defence Minister also asked the armed forces to increase surveillance along the Line of Control (LoC) and international border. The military will use drones, radars, and ground patrols to monitor any suspicious movement from across the border.
In recent days, Pakistan-based terrorists have tried to cross into India, especially in the Jammu and Kashmir region. The Border Security Force (BSF) recently killed seven terrorists during one such attempt in Samba. These incidents have raised concerns about more attacks and led to tighter security measures.
Rajnath Singh praised the Indian forces for their quick and strong response to recent threats. He told the military leaders to stay in close contact with local commanders and share information without delay.
The Defence Minister also asked the armed forces to support civil authorities in border areas. He stressed the need to protect civilians and avoid panic, especially in sensitive regions.
India’s military has already increased troop presence in key areas and continues to carry out regular drills to remain fully prepared. Defence officials also briefed Rajnath Singh on coordination with intelligence agencies and future defence plans.
The government is closely watching the situation and may hold further meetings if needed. Officials said India wants peace but will respond strongly to any threat from across the border.
