Robbery at Auditor’s House in West Saidapet: Three Suspects Arrested

Kumaran Nagar Police made a breakthrough in the robbery case at an auditor’s house in West Saidapet by arresting three suspects. The incident occurred when the auditor, Thanumalaya Perumal Pillai, 69, was at home last Friday. His car driver, Hussain alias Hussain Khan, accompanied by two friends, arrived with a box of sweets, claiming it was for his child’s birth.

However, the situation took a dark turn when the trio threatened Pillai with a knife, inflicting injuries on him. They managed to rob 15 sovereigns of gold jewelry and ₹2.4 lahks in cash. Shockingly, the suspects forcibly transferred ₹5 lahks from the victim’s bank account to one of their own accounts online before fleeing the scene. Thanks to a timely complaint, Additional Commissioner, South, Prem Anand Sinha formed special teams, leading to the apprehension of the three suspects—Hussain alias Hussain Khan (35), S. Vijay (33), and S. Somasundaram (37)—all residents of Saidapet and West Mambalam.

The police successfully seized fifteen sovereigns of gold jewelry, ₹1.2 lakh in cash, and two bikes used in the crime. Additionally, the frozen ₹5 lahks transferred from the victim’s account to one of the suspect’s accounts will aid in further investigations.
