Sri Lanka Offers Free Entry for India Tests

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has made the upcoming two-match Test series against India free for fans. This means people can watch the matches without buying tickets through selected gates at the stadiums.

The first Test will be played at Galle International Stadium on 15 August, and the second will take place in Colombo on 23 August. Both games are part of the 2025-27 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. SLC wants fans, young cricketers, families, and sports lovers to enjoy watching India and Sri Lanka compete in this long-format game.

Fans can enter Galle International Stadium through Gate 4 for free during the first Test. For the second Test at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, gates 3, 4, 5, and 7 will be open without tickets. This is part of Sri Lanka’s strategy to attract more people to matches.

India last played a Test series in Sri Lanka in 2017, winning all three games. The team, led by Shubman Gill with KL Rahul as vice-captain, includes players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja. They are currently preparing for the series with a practice match in Colombo.

Shubman Gill missed the first day of this practice match due to an injury to his right finger, but India’s team is ready to face Sri Lanka in what promises to be an exciting series.
