Tangedco Introduces Safety App for Electricity Maintenance Staff

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has launched a safety app named ‘Tneb Safety’ aimed at enhancing the safety of maintenance staff involved in rectification work during power disruptions. Developed by the Information Technology wing, the app mandates supervising staff to download it for protective purposes.

The safety app ensures that maintenance teams adhere to safety protocols, including wearing protective gear and fixing earth rods before commencing electrical fieldwork. The user-friendly app, functional in offline mode, captures geotagged photographs of the work spot, reinforcing safety measures and preventing electrocution during rectification work.
