Tragic Wild Elephant Attack Claims Lives of Couple in Andhra Pradesh

In a tragic incident highlighting the ongoing conflict between humans and wildlife, a wild elephant attack in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district near the Tamil Nadu border resulted in the death of a couple and left another person critically injured. The attack occurred in Ramapuram Village, where the elephants entered at dawn, causing havoc by killing cattle, trampling the couple to death, and injuring a third person.

Forest officials promptly launched an operation to contain the aggressive elephants, with the Chief Conservator of Forest monitoring the situation. The incident has sparked protests from nearby villagers, highlighting concerns about the spread of such conflicts in the region. This incident is the latest in a series of man-animal conflicts in the area, attributed to habitat loss and diminishing food resources for wildlife.
