Two and half-year-old girl died before being rescued from the borewell in Vidisha district

A tragic incident occurred in Kajri Barkheda village of Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district, where a two-and-a-half-year-old girl named Smita Ahirwar fell into a 15 ft deep open borewell. The toddler was spotted in the borewell at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, leading to a joint rescue operation by local police, SDRF, and NDRF teams in the evening.

Sadly, despite their efforts, the child was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The open borewell was located in the courtyard of her house, and it is believed that the incident occurred earlier in the day before the rescue attempt.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed deep sorrow over the untimely death of the toddler and extended his prayers for peace to the departed soul and strength to the grieving family. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has also instructed Vidisha Collector to provide financial assistance to the affected family.
