TVK Claims 30% Vote Share in 2026
The Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) has claimed that its internal assessment
shows the party may get more than 30 per cent of the vote share in the 2026
Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
TVK leader C.T. Nirmal Kumar said people now see TVK as the party with the
strongest support. He said several surveys show TVK has crossed 30 per cent vote share.
He also claimed that the DMK’s vote share will not go beyond 21 per cent, and that
the AIADMK got only 19.5 per cent in the last election held without Jayalalithaa.
Nirmal Kumar said TVK was not formed just to make someone chief minister, but
added that people are supporting the party to make its leader the next Chief
Minister of Tamil Nadu.
India Today accessed TVK’s internal survey, which was based on a sample size of
41,453 people. According to this survey, the DMK leads with 32.9 per cent support,
followed closely by TVK with 31.7 per cent. The AIADMK stands at 27.3 per cent,
while 8.1 per cent of respondents supported other parties.
The survey also said TVK has strong support in districts such as Chennai,
Chengalpattu, Dharmapuri, Madurai, Pudukottai, Ranipet, Tenkasi, Thirupathur,
Thiruvarur, Thoothukudi, Tiruppur, Tiruvallur and Cuddalore.
Based on seat projections, the DMK is expected to win 104 seats, TVK 74 seats
and the AIADMK 56 seats.
