Chennai Corporation Approves Lounges for Workers

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has approved the construction of lounges for conservancy workers in Tiruvottiyur Zone (Zone I). The project will cover Divisions 1 to 10 and is part of the 2025–2026 development works, costing ₹1.5 crore, according to GCC.

Each lounge will measure 20 feet long and 10 feet wide and can accommodate 25 workers. The lounges will include changing rooms and restrooms, and LED lights will be installed to improve visibility. These facilities are meant for conservancy workers working in the respective divisions in North Chennai.
