Dense Fog and Cold Wave Alerts Issued
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for dense to very dense fog in several northern states today. These include Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Delhi. The fog is expected to affect visibility, especially during the early morning and night hours, and people have been advised to be cautious while travelling.
The IMD said that similar foggy conditions may also occur at some places in the North Eastern states, as well as in Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
At the same time, the weather department has forecast cold wave and ground frost conditions in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Assam. These conditions may affect daily life and agriculture in these regions, and people have been advised to take necessary precautions against the cold.
In southern India, the IMD has predicted heavy rainfall at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Mahe, and Karaikal. This rain is expected to continue until Sunday, and residents in these areas have been asked to stay alert.
The weather department continues to closely monitor the situation and has advised people across the country to follow weather updates and take safety measures as needed.
