India’s Foreign Minister Meets UAE and France During U.N. Assembly

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held separate meetings with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meetings focused on strengthening cooperation between India and its international partners in several important areas. The discussions covered emerging technologies, energy, health, space and cultural cooperation.

During his meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Jaishankar discussed areas of mutual interest between India and the United Arab Emirates. India and the UAE have expanded their cooperation in recent years across trade, investment, technology, energy and people-to-people ties.

Artificial intelligence was also among the areas discussed by the leaders. Both countries have shown interest in using new technologies to support economic growth and development while exploring opportunities for greater cooperation in emerging fields.

Jaishankar also met French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot. Their discussions included cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, space exploration, health sciences and energy security.

India and France have a long-standing strategic partnership covering defence, space, clean energy, technology and other areas. Cooperation in advanced technologies has become an increasingly important part of their bilateral relationship.

Health sciences and energy security were also highlighted as areas where international cooperation can play an important role. Discussions in these fields can help countries work together on research, innovation, energy supplies and other shared challenges.

Cultural exchanges were another area of interest during the diplomatic engagements. Such exchanges can strengthen people-to-people connections and create greater understanding between countries.

The meetings took place during the UN General Assembly, where leaders and senior officials from countries around the world gather to discuss international issues and strengthen diplomatic cooperation.

Jaishankar’s meetings with the UAE and French foreign ministers underline India’s continued engagement with key international partners on technology, energy, health, space and cultural cooperation.
