Andhra Pradesh Cyclone Damage Report
The Andhra Pradesh government has submitted an initial damage assessment report to the central government following the impact of Cyclone Arnab. According to the preliminary estimate, the cyclone has caused losses of approximately ₹4,600 crore across the state.
The report highlights significant damage to infrastructure and agricultural activities. Several areas have reportedly faced difficulties due to the impact of the cyclone, affecting roads, public facilities and other essential infrastructure. The damage has also created concerns for farmers, with agricultural land and crops among the sectors affected.
The estimated loss of ₹4,600 crore reflects the scale of the damage reported by the state government. The initial assessment is expected to help the central government understand the extent of the destruction and consider the support required for recovery and relief operations.
The state government has shared the report as part of its efforts to seek assistance from the Centre. Further assessments may provide a clearer picture of the overall losses and the financial requirements for restoring damaged infrastructure and supporting affected farmers.
The focus is now on evaluating the damage, providing necessary assistance to affected communities and beginning recovery work in the impacted areas.
